Chrono Odyssey Partners With QuasarZone to Improve PC Performance, Revise System

Kakao Games has announced that it has partnered with the Korean hardware community QuasarZone to improve the PC performance of its upcoming MMORPG Chrono Odyssey.

The companies signed a memorandum of understanding that will include hardware testing, expanded graphics settings, and revised official PC specifications.

Under the agreement, Kakao Games will expand and adjust Chrono Odyssey‘s in-game graphics options. QuasarZone will test the game across various PC configurations using its GameReady hardware testing program.

Testing will measure factors including frame-rate stability and hardware resource usage across different performance tiers. QuasarZone also plans to create testing scenarios based on large-scale in-game battles to evaluate how the game performs under heavier conditions players may encounter during regular play.

Data gathered through those tests will be used to redefine Chrono Odyssey‘s official minimum and recommended PC specifications. Kakao Games plans to associate its hardware requirements with specific resolutions, target frame rates, and graphics presets rather than providing broader minimum and recommended configurations without those performance targets.

The partnership will additionally establish performance targets for lower-cost PC configurations and handheld gaming PCs. 

Kakao Games says providing more detailed hardware targets should give PC players a clearer idea of expected performance before purchasing the game. The testing process is also intended to identify compatibility and performance issues across a wider selection of hardware before release.

Chrono Odyssey is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
