Before modern motorcycle racers became obsessed with realistic handling and photorealistic tracks, there was plenty of fun to be had with a few bikes, some obstacles and a well-timed power-up.
Moto X reaches back to its 1994 origins for a dose of old-school motocross racing, challenging players to outpace rival riders across a selection of tracks.
Published by Ratalaika Games, it’s available now for £5.79 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation, with Xbox Play Anywhere support.

Old-School Racing With A Few Tricks Up Its Sleeve
Moto X puts riders on 250cc, 550cc and 750cc motorcycles, with tracks full of obstacles and competing racers standing between you and victory. There are three skill levels to tackle, each featuring five tracks and a bonus level, giving you plenty of opportunities to get to grips with the racing.
Raw riding ability won’t always be enough, either. Power-ups scattered throughout each race can give you an advantage over your rivals, so grabbing the right item at the right moment could make all the difference.
Challenge A Friend To The Finish
Fancy settling a long-running argument about who deserves bragging rights? Moto X includes local split-screen multiplayer for two players, letting you go head-to-head on the same screen. It’s a welcome throwback to the days when racing games were as much about beating the person beside you as setting the fastest time.
Moto X is available now for £5.79 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC (through the Xbox Store with Play Anywhere), Nintendo Switch and PlayStation. If you’re after a straightforward retro racing fix with power-ups and some friendly competition, this revival could be worth a look.
