While we already know that MachineGames are hard at work on their next game, it’s not exactly ‘official’ that there’s going to be another entry in the Wolfenstein series. Still, Xbox CSO Matthew Ball couldn’t help but tease a little on social media anyway.

Now I don’t know about you, but if there’s one team I’m very content to allow plenty of time to cook, it’s the folks at MachineGames. And after their recent Indiana Jones game, I’m very keen to see them return to Wolfenstein (as long as they promise to make another Indiana Jones game afterwards!).

Indeed, we know that Microsoft is focusing on big franchises, and with Wolfenstein getting a TV show via Amazon-MGM, it makes sense to try and line it up with a new game.

Most recently, towards the end of a recent Noclip episode focused on the studio, Machine Games Studio head Jerk Gustafsson had a little more to share on what’s next for Wolfenstein.

“That journey, for B.J, even during those first weeks at id (Software), when we mapped out New Order, we still had the plan for, at least, that character. What will happen in the second one, what will happen in the third one. And I think that’s important to say because – at least – I hope – that we’re not done with Wolfenstein yet. We have a story to tell.”

For many fans (myself included) this is music to my ears. As much as I adored Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, and absolutely want to see more Indy in the future, I wouldn’t want to get that at the expense of finishing B.J Blazkowicz’s story.

Either way, it looks like Matt Ball is pretty keen on that too.
